Tomorrow my man gets home after a week away. Yes, I miss him but I also got right into doing my own things at home… Like wearing pajamas for 3 days straight, napping at 5pm or eating cupcakes for breakfast with zero guilt. Music, editing, vocals, silence, naps… Being antisocial. It’s been good. Even work has been chill… The winter has had its stresses so it’s been high time to deflate as the sun starts flirting with us again.
I got my ‘Note from the Universe’ today and this is what I said:
“Have you ever noticed, Amber, that there’s really only one thing you can do to unquestionably change the scenery in your life?
Physically move through it.”
We all go through ups and downs and good times and bad. Sometimes we rule at life, sometimes we suck at it. But in the end, you have to shut out the world and just be you. Just do what you want and be who you want. Take away the pressure and forget all the things you ‘should’ do and do the things you want to.
We aren’t machines. Give yourself permission to rest. Allow yourself to feel joy over the little things again. You don’t have to make everyone happy, and you can’t! By working through your own physical environment, conscientiously taking time for yourself, you’ll have a lot more to offer the world when you crawl out from your self-care bubble.
This was my mantra for the past week. We all need time for ourselves to simply exist and even though I miss my sweetie, he is coming home to a much happier, calmer, content girlfriend AND the man-cave isn’t so manly anymore after its Pine Sol Facelift.
Take time for you.
Seriously, it’s important.
